You guys may remember Rachel, Brandon and Louis from the fall maternity session I posted a couple of months back. Well, great news! They are now plus one. We welcomed Henry with a super-sweet in-home lifestyle photo session.
Rachel and Brandon’s home is so welcoming, inviting and warm. I had a great time spending some time with their little family and, of course, capturing some lovely memories.
Fall is prime time photo season here in Western New York. It also happens to be my busiest season as a photographer. When Amy reached out to me about a mother and daughter photo session, I was excited to capture some beautiful moments in the midst of a gorgeous NY fall.
I have known Amy for some time now, but I was very excited at the chance to reconnect and to spend some time with her daughter, Addison, as well. I had them up to my property to snap some photos and catch up (most of my sessions can be descried as glorified hanging out). Amy and Addie have such a special, loving relationship that was a pleasure to capture.
Amy was also looking for some shots to promote her website, where she blogs, creates home decor and showcases her venture, The Wooden Wing Project. The Wooden Wing Project offers bereaved parents of deceased infants a handcut wooden wing figure to display in their home or on their Christmas tree as “a remembrance of an angel gone too soon.” Check it out here.
Here are a few of my favorite shots from Amy and Addie’s shoot – I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them!
When Rachel reached out to me to shoot her maternity and family session, I was elated. I have known Rachel since I was in 3rd grade, and we even attended the same college (what up, Bonaventure). She is now pregnant with her and Brandon’s second little babe, and she looks amazing.
I had been looking to shoot in this lovely location just outside of Portville, NY for some time now. The way the sunset light falls onto the yellow goldenrod and the surrounding hillside is nothing short of awe-inspiring. We started with some photos of the whole family, but as the sun began to set over the hill, I knew we had to grab some solo shots of Rachel and baby before he or she makes his or her grand entrance into our world.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed shooting them!
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned lately how much I love in home shoots. I get to see a couple or family interact in their element, and capture those beautiful unstaged moments of life – because that’s what we’re doing day to day, isn’t it?
Katie and Ryan were not only supremely comfortable, but also clearly in love. Look at their interactions and tell me this isn’t #goals.
Even though I live in Boulder, I love to travel, see new areas and meet new people. Let’s talk!

When Kim and Meade asked me to capture their engagement moments when they flew in from Chicago, I obviously said YES.
We met in Boulder Canyon and captured some lovely moments that come close to showing the amount of love they share for each other.
When I saw a VW bus chilling in the lawn, I knew we had to take advantage of it. Weirdly enough, I have one that’s pretty much the exact same color blue, but at that time the battery had died and I couldn’t drive it. Is that fate or what?!
Check out some of our shots that do well of emphasizing my perfect session: movement, laughter and REALNESS.

This past week, my fiancé and I decided to get a Christmas tree. We decided on a ‘live’ tree because I have a strange empathy for plants. Or maybe I’m just strange.
We started off with a solid breakfast at 24 Carrot Bistro in Erie, CO. I highly recommend eating there if you’re ever in the area – the mocktails are to de for. I’m sure the cocktails are too, but it was 9am.
After that we headed over to The Tree Farm. Anyone who lives in Denver has probably heard the catchy jingle on the radio (5 miles west to The Tree Farm). We found the perfect little tree, and then we headed home to decorate.

A couple of months back I came across the Puffy & Chunk page on Facebook. If you haven’t seen it yet you need to check it out. Hilarious cat antics 24/7.
Anyhoooo I decided to email Kira (the human behind the magic) and asked if I could come by and take some photos. She agreed and now here we are. On the shoot I discovered Kira was totally awesome and now I can go visit her and the kitties whenever I want!
Connections – what this job is all about.

Allison is a Denver-based designer who operates Peach & Pepper apparel. She drove to Boulder to meet me for some fun fashion photos of her new Spring designs.
Allison’s clothing is all sewn in Denver by local artisans. She carefully selects fabric and designs each item specifically. Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder was the perfect place to showcase her unique styles and designs.
